Token Allocation Calculation

• The token sale for GENE will follow the standard Impossible Launchpad staking subscription format whereby users’ stakeWeight is calculated based on the proportional amount of IDIA they stake and the duration they stake relative to the total amount and staking duration of the entire pool, with users’ staked IDIA balances recorded at the start of the stake period.

• This design is currently selected to ensure that all users can have a proportionate access into the GENE token depending on which pool they enter into. As we develop the Impossible launchpad product offering, we will enable other fair, smart allocation mechanisms which will further decentralize token distribution.

KYC Details

• KYC Preparation Period: Rolling ongoing basis. We require 100 IDIA or 25 IF tokens to start KYC to prevent bots from spamming our KYC partner. Users can KYC anytime during the entire IDO timeline, but will not be able to stake until their KYC is completed. Exact timing

• Impossible.Finance makes every effort to ensure that the actual time follows the above planned schedules. However, there is a high chance that there is a discrepancy between these 2 times due to the very nature of blockchains.

• In smart contracts, each event (e.g. staking) is triggered when a specific block is reached, and with block times entirely dependent on network/infrastructure conditions (some block times can be longer than 30% than the average), it can be challenging to predict the block that corresponds to the exact planned time.

More than three years ago, the augmented reality mobile game Pokémon GO broke the world’s most successful mobile games of all time, and was ‘the most downloaded in its first month of release’. To date, this free-to-play game has grossed more than $5 billion in revenue in the span of five years, only surviving off in-game upgrades, special drops and pay-to-enter habitats.

An average player spends around 33 minutes in-game per day, but the value from all the time spent on training Pokémon and leveling up is confined to the game’s economy, directly monopolized by the game developer. Any in-game assets have little to no value outside of the game, and if the server goes down or game is no longer supported, players can lose access to everything they have purchased or earned in the game.

To release locked up value in-game, gamers have found their way out through blockchain-based games. Developers are packing in-game assets into NFTs, where the asset’s ownership and authenticity are verifiable on the blockchain. The NFT has access to a liquid economy, enabling the trading of virtual game assets on the market.

Enter GameFi, a marriage between decentralized finance and blockchain gaming, combining the value of in-game assets (NFTs) and financial markets (DeFi), all on the same platform (Gaming). The term was coined by Andre Cronje of yearn.finance in late 2020, and generates excitement as it enables a multitude of extra financial incentives, allowing gamers to stake tokens or even NFTs, and yield additional sources of income. We’re guessing parents will no longer be nagging their children to stay off video games when a player on one of the most popular blockchain-based games Axie Infinity is raking in $400 per month on average.

It goes without saying that Axie Infinity has been the driving catalyst in the growth of GameFi and its magnitude of influence should not be dismissed. It has enabled other games within the space, as a result of this traction, to have had notable developments when it comes to fundraising. Recent investment highlights include Parallel’s $50 million raise for ‘PlayFi’ development and Merit Circle’s $4.5 million raised to develop guilds.

Even with all this development currently happening, this is still just the tip of the iceberg. GameFi is steadily producing higher-quality games that could potentially rival traditional games. With the edge of being able to monetize gameplay and interact with DeFi products (such as yield farming and governance proposals), it enables users who would typically stray away from financial products the ability to test and learn about these different operations in a gamified way.

Fair Gameplay
As with many P2E games we’ve recently seen, most notably Axie infinity, there is a huge barrier to entry when it comes to getting started. In order to wholly interact and participate in the game, players are required to pay hundreds of dollars. For a player living in an American suburb, for example, it may be a small price to pay but for users in less developed countries that few hundred dollars could be the equivalent of a month’s salary. This has led to guilds such as Hooga Gaming to create scholarships, bridging that gap for players from less financially sustainable areas to participate, however, this has subsequently placed an emphasis on earning rather than playing for enjoyment.

For Genopets, this was a great consideration when building the game. Their solution is; create a system that caters to both F2P and P2P. As of Q4 2021, we’ve seen a number of different layer 1s (L1s) come into the picture taking its piece of the pie away from Ethereum mainnet. The main catalyst for the general increase in the movement of liquidity and mindshare away from Ethereum is the significant improvement of infrastructure, mainly in the form of bridges, which is essentially what enables the transfer of tokens from one chain to another.

Gas fees are one of the biggest barriers preventing users from accessing dapps on expensive networks. Now, with the likes of Solana, Avalanche, Fantom, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, etc. more chains offer cheaper fees, better overall user experience, and attractive liquidity mining incentives (as seen on Avalanche and Fantom), we are seeing monthly DEX volumes north of $80bn, but the liquidity on each of these chains is still somewhat siloed in each chain.

Now with more advanced bridges like Synapse, Connext, Anyswap, and Allbridge deploying on both EVM and non-EVM chains, it has enabled liquidity to seamlessly move around. For example, Allbridge has currently enabled more than $1.5bn in funds to be bridged across seven different chains, all this within the span of 2 weeks after launching. As for Synapse, a total value locked (TVL) of $545mn is distributed across 5 different chains, where the abundance of liquidity has enabled funds to be moved in an incredibly fast manner, with minimal transport frictions.

With the rapid expansion of different L1s and L2s, as a result of greater infrastructure built therein lies a significant problem within DeFi – the fragmentation of liquidity. Liquidity fragmentation moves us further away from crypto’s endgame of creating systems and protocols that are interoperable with one another due to the siloed nature of chains, restricting protocols from accessing liquidity outside of its native chain. However, we envision a future where assets and positions can act as collaterals across chains and liquidity can be unlocked across all chains and ecosystems – that way, you’d be able to have funds on an L1 like Binance Smart Chain and farm on Avalanche without having to go through the tedious process of dealing with bridges, swaps, slippage, and transaction costs on receiving blockchains.

Even the most ardent daily DeFi users find it difficult to constantly switch to different chains – why? Because of the opportunity cost resulting in high friction and expensive gas fees. Investment Thesis
The Ariadne IDO is Impossible’s next step in our journey to redefine the future of interoperability and composability among different chains, continuing to set the bar for future infrastructure projects.

Cross-chain Farming
Most of the time, it’s an extremely tedious process to be an optimal “honest yield farmer” – you have to move chains to yield farm, pull liquidity from the protocol you’re farming, unstake your liquidity provider (LP) tokens, and then swap assets to accommodate for the tokens that can be transferred by the bridge and then repeat the same processes again on the next chain. And “crop rotation” frictions definitely add up over time.

With Ariadne, yield farming and DeFi participation across multiple chains become as simple as checking if the yield farm on a supported chain is live and having the necessary funds to zap across to begin earning rewards instantly. This can aid in connecting all chains that currently still operate in isolation to power new ideas and higher capital efficiency in the DeFi world.

Opportunities for Both Users and LPs
Initial farming liquidity is provided by Ariadne and its partners before making way to feature a DAO governed process. If not enough initial liquidity is present on the farm, the users will access a “universal roll-up” that will bundle transactions to reduce gas costs, removing bottlenecks for the average DeFi user – think of it like waiting for a public transportation bus rather than taking a private car to move across chains.

Onchain, Ariadne’s smart contract enters the farm(s), and mints aFarm (AriadneFarm) tokens that can be purchased/swapped on the same blockchain. At the same time, wrapped versions of aFarm tokens are deployed on all participating blockchains. This tokenized position feature can be utilised for other DeFi opportunities as well and makes positions much more fungible.

As a result, the user can instantly purchase and sell (limited by any necessary cooldown features), the tokens exiting/entering farms that would otherwise be too costly to enter or too much of a hassle to move to.

Using Ariadne, the additional yield farming opportunities opened up with lower frictions, combined with added incentives in native ARDN token, will make cross-chain defi experiences not only the easier but also more compelling.

Future Plans
The wrapped version of the farm tokens that represent your share in a given farm opens a whole host of interoperable and composable sets of strategies, such as in the lending market. Imagine instantly borrowing stables on Avalanche against your farming tokens on ETH mainnet – this is what Ariadne v2 is aiming to do as early as this quarter.

At the time of writing (October 15th, 2021), Aave features nearly $27.6bn in deposits, but only $8.0bn is being borrowed across chains, of which over $7.1bn coming from stablecoin borrowings. The level of capital efficiency for other assets across multiple chains can be further augmented with protocols like Ariadne that make it easier for users to tap into their collaterals for liquidity in layer-2 chains and thus increase the capital efficiency lending pools. Higher borrowing usage will lead to better equilibrium rates for lenders, thus attracting even more folks to join into DeFi to supply assets to counter this increased demand.

Additional future products include:

Autonomous Investment Vehicle: forget self-driving cars, how about self-driving investments? Funds deposited into Ariadne-automated strategies can just follow crowdsourced intelligence and track aggregated movements of funds that move across all multichain yield opportunities.

Risk Ratings: Because Ariadne helps facilitate the mass movement and transfer of funds across chains and dApps, it is also in a position to provide real time information about the flows of funds between products and assess the risk ratings of all multichain ecosystems.

In both use cases, because Ariadne has the potential of being the lowest-friction center for multi-chain money movements, Ariadne becomes the primary source of on-chain information flows, much as Google has become the homepage of the internet’s information flows. Token Allocation Calculation

• The token sale for ARDN will follow the standard Impossible Launchpad staking subscription format whereby users’ stakeWeight is calculated based on the proportional amount of IDIA they stake and the duration they stake relative to the total amount and staking duration of the entire pool, with users’ staked IDIA balances recorded at the start of the stake period.

• This design is currently selected to ensure that all users can have a proportionate access into the ARDN token depending on which pool they enter into. As we develop the Impossible launchpad product offering, we will enable other fair, smart allocation mechanisms which will further decentralize token distribution.

KYC Details

• KYC Preparation Period: Rolling ongoing basis. We require 100 IDIA or 25 IF tokens to start KYC to prevent bots from spamming our KYC partner. Exact timing

2. The Impossible Buy-back Protection Program: How do we protect users?

Simple Explanation

• Highstreet will pledge, on-chain, to Buy-Back your HIGH tokens at a price $0.7 within 7 days after the 4-month lock-up period ends, subject to the conditions below.

• This means that you can sell back the amount of HIGH tokens purchased during the public sale, thus protected from any potential downside price risk of $HIGH during the 4 month vesting period. We are confident that the Highstreet team will deliver on their product and roadmap, and that this protection can convey the same confidence to all participants in our public sale.

4. Mechanism: How can you access the program?

We will be implementing the buy-back mechanism on OpenSwap’s new whitelisting limit order feature. OpenSwap was Impossible’s second IDO project, and we are a firm believer as a launchpad of showcasing our launchpad, past and present, and their potential use-cases and integrations.

Details on how the mechanism will work on-chain will be fully shared at a later date. The full feature will be completely audited, and transparent on chain for users to see the buy-back protection.

5. Conditions: Who is protected?

Only users that have participated in Highstreet’s public sale will be eligible for this buy-back protection. Specifically:

• Only the KYC’ed wallet addresses that have purchased and claimed HIGH tokens on the Impossible Finance Launchpad will be protected.

6. Impossible Thinking & Setting the Tone for What Launchpads Should Be: Why are we doing this?

At Impossible Finance, we treasure our community, first and foremost. We aim to find the best crypto opportunities for you and at the same time try to protect you against risks. We strongly believe that launchpads should be “strategic public” opportunities to distribute tokens into real believers of projects, and we believe that vesting can be helpful in creating longer term incentive alignment. However, in this situation of the last minute change to the vesting schedule, we believe it’s important to give users more protection given that they will have to undergo longer vestings than previously communicated with users. Impossible is constantly trying to improve the launchpad process, and open up investment opportunities previously only reserved for private sale investors.

By reserving some of the sale proceeds to back the buy-back protection program, we are actually taking the first step in creating something mentioned in our original whitepaper, the SSIDO — a self-sustaining IDO.

While the funds are in escrow and the team works to deliver on its milestones, they can also be used to earn yield in safe defi protocols, allowing for projects to build with confidence and garner support from the community. The community then has peace of mind in knowing that their hard-earned dollars are being put to good work and not just distributed to project teams that could run away with funds. Our first iteration of this buy-back protection program is one good way to make sure all users have less risk in backing those who are BUIDLers. This is just one step towards achieving Vitalik Buterin’s DAICO model where we put the user first and the project teams’ treasury funds are governed by the community.

7. Notes: What else is important to know?

• For transparency, we will have the 500,000 HIGH tokens and 700,000 BUSD held in a multisig wallet protected by both Highstreet and Impossible Finance council members. Address will be publicly shared later. The unused BUSD will be returned to Highstreet
